A Morning at the Lake

Highline Lake

Just past sunrise

With my training partner

We swam in shimmery water and bouncy raindrops

Rode along freshly-showered farm roads laced in sunflowers and blooming rabbit brush

And trotted ourselves up and down the lakeside trail and across the dam

To the finish line

Week seven of training

Next Sunday’s the real deal.

Highline 1

Highline 2

Highline 3

Highline 4

So awesome! Best wishes for the rest of your training and for Sunday! You two are already winners in my book!

We’re winners in our book, too, because we won’t be doing any winning on Sunday. πŸ™‚

I feel so much stronger and that is what I like the most.

      Thanks, Deb.

I know what you mean about feeling stronger. I’ve been walking and going to Curves for several months now, even during the hot humid summer months, and I can definitely feel a difference. I like following your amazing adventures. You have great motivation and determination. πŸ™‚

Good to hear you like my adventures. I do, too!

That’s awesome that they have Curves over there. I used to go to Curves here before we got a Gold’s Gym. I switched so I could play racquetball at Gold’s. I love Curves and went there faithfully for several years. Keep it up, Deb! Proud of you!

Yeah, this time something just clicked differently, and I’m able to make the commitment and stick with it. And the results have been amazing. Curves will probably work indefinitely for me. With my replacement knee, I don’t think I’ll be playing racquetball. πŸ˜‰ What I’m really looking forward to next year is being able to find a pool that I can use regularly. Not always easy to do in this part of Taiwan. But hey, they have Curves. πŸ™‚

Again, good for you! Swimming is my all-time favorite exercise. I could swim forever. Just did my tri today and it went well. And, the swim was the best part. I was out of the water in 13 minutes. 13 minutes out of my hour and 47 minutes.

I am so impressed with you doing the tri. I loved following your training and seeing pictures of the day on FB. Your swimming time is great! Taking on the challenge at all is great!

Good luck! May the wind be always at your back and the road rise to meet you.

Ha! I don’t know if a “rising road” is a good image for the triathlon. There are a few hills in this rolling farm terrain that we’ll be riding through. πŸ™‚
